EducationUniversity of Michigan-Ann Arbor - Bachelors, Aerospace Engineering
ExperienceI'm Scott, and I earned my aerospace engineering degree from the University of Michigan. I have a strong academic background in science and math. As a college student, I tutored physics and math for high school students, and I also helped students prepare for the math sections of the SAT and ACT, along with SAT subject tests in math. I am a visual learner, and I enjoy explaining math concepts and helping students work through solving problems in visual ways. I demonstrate concepts instead of just describing them. When it comes to solving problems, I guide students down the path without giving away the answer. I want students to develop their problem-solving skills so that they can solve problems independently. I will provide guidance along the way, while explaining why a concept we are studying works and how it is used in the real world. This will give students a concrete idea of the concept, which makes it easier to understand and retain. I can assist students in subjects like algebra, calculus, trigonometry, physics, chemistry, pre-calculus, pre-algebra, and test preparation. When I have free time, I enjoy playing intramural sports, swimming, cheering for University of Michigan sports teams and Colorado professional sports teams, watching television and movies, playing trivia, volunteering, doing DIY projects, and reading.
